What is a "Jawn" anyway?

Updated: Apr 22, 2019

US dialect (chiefly in eastern Pennsylvania) used to refer to a thing, place, person, or event that one need not or cannot give a specific name to.

"These jawns are very impressive."

The band is based out of the Philadelphia metropolitan area and most of us grew up around here. It's rumored that this word has been around since the 1970s and we just love using it all the time. What better word to describe this thing of ours?
